The North Remembers
The North Remembers is a game set in early 300 AC after the Red Wedding, where King Robb Stark and his mother, Catelyn Stark, were murdered at the wedding of Robb’s uncle, Lord Edmure Tully. The wedding also included the deaths of various Stark bannermen and a massacre of King Robb’s troops in camp at the Twins. After the death of King Robb, Lord Roose Bolton of the Dreadfort has been proclaimed Warden of the North by King Joffery Baratheon. Lord Roose’s bastard Ramsay, now legitimized, is now Lord of Winterfell.
Survivors of the campaign against the Westerlands have limped home to a war plagued north which includes ironborn reavers on the western coast, occupying strongholds such as Deepwood Motte and Torrhen’s Square. Winterfell is sacked and burnt, leaving House Stark’s seat largely abandoned. Nobles and smallfolk alike suffer the aftermath of the war and the Bolton rule.
After the death of King Joffery at his own wedding, and the disappearance of Sansa Stark, the heir of House Stark, the situation within the Seven Kingdoms is no better even though the fighting has decreased substantially. The Riverlands still hold on by a thread against the Lannister army as it besieges Riverrun. King Stannis Baratheon’s army has been defeated at the Battle of the Blackwater, greatly diminishing it. And yet, the smallfolk still starve due to the horrors of war that spread from the North to the Reach.
In the North, the Bolton rule is absolute and universally feared. But the North Remembers, and the descendants of the First Men are not easily cowed.
